On Mondays, we’ll lock in together: See below for a motivational tidbit to start your week, perspective on movement I’m focusing on, and music I’m enjoying I’d like to share with you 🙂
1/3. Motivation
If you’re crazy enough to think you can change the world, you’re exactly who the world needs.
In the past couple of weeks, I feel like the motivational quote and the “intention for the week” I’ve been setting has had subtle undertones to more intentionally align how we want to show up vs. how we do. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I’ve been craving some motivation this week that feels less corrective and more uplifting, if you will?

A card from Mr.Jozwik
Truthfully, this card has been perched on my bookshelf ever since we moved in to this apartment in 2022. It was given to me in 2017 by one of the most influential mentors in my life, my high school MUN coach, on the day I graduated. Before this apartment, the card has seen the walls of various dorms at Claremont McKenna and a San Francisco apartment in SoMa.
It’s been subtly speaking to me a little bit louder over the past week since I moved it from my bookshelf to my desktop set up at home last Monday night. I figured it was perfect to lighten the tone this week.
At first glance, the quote is…overwhelming? It can make us feel really small…almost questioning how we, as one person, have the power to really change the world. If we dissect what ‘change the world’ means, though, I think acknowledging scale and how it can grow over time makes this not just less overwhelming, but empowering.
Perhaps it starts with influencing the world immediately around us, then expanding that to an area / topic we are passionate about, leading to ripple effects that (hopefully) create positive impact elsewhere.
I’m not saying that we shouldn’t aspire to positively impact every individual on the globe - it would be amazing if we could, and I think that too is feasible. However, missing the nuance that it takes stepping stones to get there could actually be limiting and diminish some of our agency. Change isn’t an ‘all or nothing’ endeavor; impact scales over time, you can start where you are today and build moment. Positive global shifts likely don’t occur without laying the groundwork 🙂
Intention for the Week: Take and recognize the stepping stones 🙂
2/3. Movement
Your Strategic Blueprint: Unlocking Faster Progress with Training Splits
Week 6: Deep Dive on Leg Day
Week 6 on training splits! Quick recap of what we’ve covered:
Week 1: Lay the groundwork and answer the fundamental question: "What's a Training Split?" (if you missed it, click the link here).
Week 2: Dive into the split that I incorporate into my weekly routine: Push / Pull / Legs + an exercise bank to get you started (Link if you missed it)
Week 3: Within my PPL split, outlined the exercises I prioritized on each training day (link here)
Week 4: Deep dive on my Push Day (read it here)
Week 5: Deep dive on my Leg Day (here)
I am building out an elaborate guide that covers all the content in one package. Please email me at [email protected] with any questions / feedback! What do you like or not like about this series? Any questions about lifting that I can gather for future posts?
Week 6: Deep Dive on Pull Day
EEP! Truly my favorite days in my split. So much so that I try to start and end my work week with a leg day, hitting legs on Mondays and Fridays. It doesn’t always work out that way so sometimes I adjust depending on if I’m sore or if I switched things up - but I always try to go back to M & F Leg Day cadence.
Similar to the past 2 weeks, I won't spend too much time writing here, as most of the information I want to cover is on the new page built into the guide. See below for what my current "Leg" day looks like.
I also use the Hevy app to track my lifts (@yoananicole), if you're curious.

And here is a PDF of the WIP document as it evolves. As mentioned above - please let me know if you have any feedback! Email me at [email protected]
3/3. Music
Dylan sent me the song Get On” from this EP last Monday night and I just fell in love with all 5 tracks. Originally, I was going to link just my personal favorite, “Country” but I’ll let you pick your favorite.
What I see when I listen to this EP: a couple cruising along an empty winding highway, windows down, in the middle of the day - almost making you question why no one else is on the road. They’re at the start of a spontaneous road-trip, with little planned except for the final destination. They’re more excited about the unstructured route than they are to get there.
