Motivation

Don’t let the hard days win.

I was at a work event this week and grabbed a piece of chocolate. I almost tossed the wrapper before I noticed it had a little message on the inside:

It offered a gentle shift in how I thought about the rest of my day. We often spend our time preparing for challenges or trying to find a lesson in a setback. But what if we gave equal weight to the small, positive moments that come our way?

It’s easy to dismiss a small, positive sign as just a coincidence without much weight. But when we encounter a challenge, our minds can sometimes magnify it, giving it more power than it deserves. Why not challenging that imbalance?

I think it’s worth it to make a point and credit the good signs when they appear. This isn’t about pretending life is perfect, but a simple mental recalibration. That little message on the chocolate wrapper didn't erase any stress, but it did put a smile on my face and made me pause. That momentary shift can sometimes be all it takes to change the trajectory of your day.

Intention for the Week: Weigh the positive signs equally with the negative ones and choose to acknowledge and let those small, happy moments sink in. My hope is that by giving them their due, we can shift our focus from what might go wrong to what's going right.
