On Fridays, we’ll take a breath: See below for some commentary on apparel trends I’m loving or things I’m eyeing, a fun activity to consider, and some food for thought as you enter your weekend 🙂
1/3. Food for Thought
Is it the decision or the commitment that comes afterwards?
I've made some big decisions lately: a commitment to forever with my partner, a job change, and a few others that felt like major forks in the road. Naturally, I feel like sometimes the first question people ask is: “does it feel different?” At least I’ve gotten that a bit.
I've been having a lot of conversations about that nuance, I think the answer is that it can feel different, but that's a choice we make. It's not the decision itself that creates the change; that's actually the easiest part. Once you've made the choice, what truly matters is how you show up for it every single day. It's the daily commitment, the small actions, and consistent effort that transforms a decision into a new reality.
This week, I challenge you to reflect on a major decision you’ve made. How did your commitment to it shape the outcome?
2/3. Fun!
Legacies of Little Things
When Dyl and I were on our honeymoon, we talked about my dream to build a beautiful study in our home one day. People get stoked about kitchens or living rooms, but I get excited about a study with a grand library on one side that requires a ladder, and that can double as a workspace by day and a whiskey lounge by night.
During our trip to New Zealand, I was inspired by the walls of different frames I kept seeing. S

That's when I had a new vision: a wall of memories made up of shadow boxes and display cabinets to hold our small, unconventional memorabilia. So, during our trip I started saving things like the handwritten notes from a "trust the bartender" round, a wrapper from our favorite chocolate in NZ, and other little items that feel like snapshots of our trip. Right now, they're all in a massive plastic bag, but I want to make this a practice that, in 30 years, will be a physical reminder of many of our shared experiences.
I used AI to create a visual of what I have in my mind. Here is what I came up with:

Maybe this inspires you to document an upcoming day you care about in an unconventional way. What small, seemingly insignificant thing could you save that would tell a powerful story years from now?
3/3. Fashion / Retail Therapy
Homeware That Evokes Fashion
While we were in New Zealand, I completely fell for a store in Arrowtown called The Seletti Concept Store. They carried some fashion brands I loke (Coperni, Christopher Esber, The Attico) and I found myself getting just as excited about the neat homeware pieces scattered throughout the shop.
I made a comment to the sales representative about wishing we'd done a registry solely for homeware pieces like the ones in store, and that's when I learned the story behind the name: Seletti. It turns out Seletti is an Italian design brand whose products are unified simply by the fact that they are unconventional and whimsical. I hadn’t heard of it until then, sharing a couple of pieces that caught my eye in the store and on their website with you:
The other neat part was that the store had a selection of pre-owned clothing from their local Arrowtown customers. I found this incredible vintage three-piece wool set there, and honestly, I'm obsessed. I wish I could wear it every single day.

I'm so grateful you've taken the time to read and engage with the newsletter. To help me make it better, I'd love to hear any thoughts or feedback you have. Feel free to send any requests, ideas, or suggestions to [email protected]!
