On Fridays, we’ll take a breath: See below for some commentary on apparel trends I’m loving or things I’m eyeing, a fun activity to consider, and some food for thought as you enter your weekend 🙂

1/3. Fashion / Retail Therapy

Denim Chaps: From Stagecoach to Street Style?

When I think chaps, I think "festival-only". Like, strictly Stagecoach territory. Maybe it’s the western trend hitting its stride, or maybe it was just noticing how cool they look when styled otherwise, but I snagged my first pair of denim chaps last week, and my mindset has officially changed.

Chaps are more versatile than I had originally thought. Past the dusty festival grounds, I think they have potential to elevate an everyday outfit easily. For example:

  • Dinner Date Chic: Throw over a cropped blazer with a slick back pony for an unexpected easy fit.

  • Office Edge: Tuck in a crisp button-down, a simple belt, and a pair of boots for a subtle, cool-girl twist to your work wardrobe.

  • Girly Grit: Pair them with a frilly, lace-trimmed blouse for a look that's equal parts sweet and edgy.

  • Effortless Cool: Toss on a simple white or graphic tee and you are set.

They've been creeping in & out for a while now. Yes, Bella Hadid was been wearing them in 2025 as her style becomes more Western, but Irina Shayk was rocking them back in 2021 out in NYC with a leather bomber. I think they’re definitely bound to have a moment this year.

2/3. Fun!

The Floral Cart

Wandering the aisles of Trader Joe's or any grocery store used to be just a weekend task, but paying attention to the floral section has started to feel like a mini art studio. Grocery shopping is more fun when you’re also elevating your home with unique touches of character.

To me, this has become an unstructured activity I look forward to, seeing which vibrant colors and textures call my name, each a potential piece in a unique puzzle. You might find yourself drawn to the fuzzy green dianthus or the playful pop of hypericum berries (like I have). Exploring the available florals is a fun way to learn about what's in season, a gentle nudge to connect with the natural world around you in a way you may not.

It's an explorative way to learn more about a craft and discover how various elements play together. I’ve quickly grown to appreciate florists in a way I hadn’t before - understanding the difficulty in balancing color, shape, and structure that goes into the profession after attempting to arrange flowers in my kitchen.

Whether you're arranging solo, as a date, or with friends, it's a small act of self-care, a way to set yourself up for a week filled with little moments of joy.

This week, try making the grocery store trip feel less like a necessity for sustenance; but an activity that brings a moment of nature and beauty into your everyday life.

For fun, here are the two arrangements I played with in the past two weekends. Courtesy of Trader Joes.

3/3. Food for Thought

Where did joy unexpectedly bloom this week?

Did a sunbeam catch the plant on your desk just right? Was it the perfect song coming on shuffle during a frustrating commute? Or was it a pleasant interaction in the breakroom while heating up your lunch?

Here are a couple of mine:

  • Our team meeting got a sweet interruption when our boss had cupcakes delivered to celebrate a coworker's birthday

  • The baristas I chat with daily asked about my zodiac sign, and we each shared about our own and how they resonate with our personalities.

These tiny, unexpected moments can help reframe your week as you wrap it up, proving that even amidst deadlines and to-dos, little moments of connection always bloom. Don't just celebrate the big wins; equally appreciate the small interactions that helped put a pep in your step and pave the way for those successes. 🙂
