Food for Thought

This image from @Ruidigital was suggested to me on Instagram. It made me pause: we (at least I) often get caught up in the technicalities of change, worrying about the specific number of days it takes to break a cycle or build a new routine. While those metrics have their place, I appreciate how this visual expands that timeline into a deeper evolution.
When we talk about habits, this perspective made me question if those conversations are somewhat surface level. This perspective shifts the focus from what we are doing to who we are becoming. It is about bridging the gap between your current self and the person you wish to embody. By viewing growth as a spectrum rather than a pass or fail daily task, we gain more data points to lean on. On days when motivation is low or you simply do not want to show up, you can look at this scale and recognize exactly where you stand. It serves as a nice reminder that even a single intentional action is a foundational step toward a new second nature.
As you head into the weekend, I invite you to think about something you are passionate about changing or evolving in yourself. Where does it currently land on this spectrum? Perhaps you have moved past the initial intention and are now navigating the repetitive nature of a behavior. Consider what small shift would be required to nudge it toward a practice. Instead of rushing toward the finish line, allow yourself to sit with the process of transformation. We are not just checking boxes. We are slowly becoming the things we once only intended to be.
